When you open the D'CENT Desktop App installer on Windows, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may display a warning that says "Windows protected your PC". Firmware Update Indicator
When a new firmware version is available for your D'CENT Biometric Wallet, the Desktop App will automatically detect it and display a notification. You will see an update badge on the device card in the app's main screen.
You can also manually check for updates by navigating to Settings → Firmware Update within the Desktop App.

Disconnecting the USB cable while the firmware is being written can corrupt the device. Keep the cable connected until the update is fully complete.

Power on your D'CENT Biometric Wallet
Press and hold the power button until the D'CENT logo appears on the OLED display.

Connect via USB cable
Plug the USB cable into your D'CENT Biometric Wallet and connect the other end to a USB port on your computer.

Open the D'CENT Desktop App
Launch the Desktop App on your computer. It will automatically detect your connected Biometric Wallet and display it on the main screen.

Enter your PIN on the wallet
When prompted, enter your wallet PIN using the buttons on your D'CENT device to authenticate the connection.
ℹIf the Desktop App does not detect your wallet, try a different USB port or cable. Ensure the wallet is powered on before connecting.

Start the Firmware Update

Look for the firmware update notification
After connecting your wallet, the Desktop App will check for available firmware updates. If a new version is available, a notification banner will appear at the top of the screen.

Click "Update Now"
Click the "Update Now" button in the notification banner or navigate to Settings → Firmware Update and click "Start Update".

Confirm on your Biometric Wallet
A confirmation prompt will appear on your D'CENT wallet's OLED display. Use the buttons on the device to confirm and begin the update.

Wait for the update to complete
The firmware update will take 3–5 minutes. A progress bar will be shown in the Desktop App. Do NOT disconnect the wallet or close the app during this time.

Do not interrupt the update process
Disconnecting the USB cable, closing the Desktop App, or allowing your computer to sleep during the update can corrupt the firmware. Keep everything connected until the process is fully complete.

Completing the Update

Update complete notification
When the firmware update is complete, the Desktop App will display a success message and your D'CENT wallet will automatically restart.

Verify the new firmware version
After the wallet restarts, navigate to Settings → Device Info in the Desktop App to confirm the new firmware version is displayed correctly.

Re-authenticate your wallet
Enter your PIN on the wallet when prompted to re-establish the connection with the Desktop App after the restart.
